In Ohio, the fee to take the entire GED test at a test facility is $120 (or $30 per individual subject test). When taking the test online, you must pay $144 for the entire test or $36 per individual sub-exam.
To be eligible to take the online GED test, you have to gain passing scores on the GED Ready test. You can buy four GED Ready tests on the GED.com website at the price of $6.99 each. First-time candidates need to pay $40 since the state will subsidize the test.
5. Ohio HiSET cost
The Ohio computer-based HiSET exam costs $93.75 for the full exam (or $18.75 per individual subtest). For first-time test-takers, the fee is $13.75.
The Ohio paper-based HiSET exam costs $115 (or $23 per individual subtest). For first-time test-takers, the fee is $35.
To be eligible to sit for the HiSET test, candidates must obtain enough scores on the HiSET Official Practice Test. It is noted that online HiSET testing can only be taken in a computer-based format.
6. GED Scoring
The four GED subject tests are scored on a scale ranging from 100 to 200 points. The passing score on each subject test is 145. If your score is in the 145-164 range, you obtain a high school equivalency level; the 165-174 range is the college-ready score and the 175-200 range shows that you are college-ready and you will be given up to 10 college credits.
7. HiSET scoring
The HiSET exam is scored on a scale from 0 to 20. You must get a minimum score of 8 out of 20 for each HiSET subject and your total score needs to be at least 45. You will also be required to write an essay for which your score must be no less than 2 out of 6.

Nevertheless, there is no requirement to first pass a qualification practice test. Test-takers in Ohio must be at least 16 years old. However, 16 or 17-year-old test-takers may also need to meet additional strict requirements.
8.3. Do I need to prove I’m a resident of Ohio to take the test?

8.5. I’m underage. What do I need to do to take the test?
If you are 16 or 17 years old, you are required to submit a copy of the current withdrawal form signed by your administrator and a consent form signed and notarized by a guardian, parent, or court official. Besides, you must also include copies of court documents and guardianship.

Once obtaining two retakes at a reduced price, the price of each subtest will return to the original price. In case you fail that subject again, you will get two more retakes at a reduced cost.
