1. Maryland GED® requirements

1.1. Maryland In-Person GED® Test
You must meet the following requirements to take the GED® test at any authorized GED® center in Maryland. Let’s check it out!

- A valid Maryland driver’s license or Maryland learner’s permit which is issued by the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA); or
- A current official Maryland identification card which is issued by the Maryland MVA; or
- A current official active duty military dependent’s ID card; or
- A valid passport and a second document, such as a cable bill, recent utility bill, phone bill, bank statement, or lease agreement.

1.2. Maryland GED® Test Online
In Maryland, you are allowed to take the Online GED Test remotely at home or in another location while monitored seriously by a trained online proctor. In order to be qualified for taking the GED® test remotely, you must fit the following requirements
- You must be a resident of Maryland.
- You must be at least 18 years old. If you are under 19 years old, you must possess an officially withdrawn from a high school program. 2. Maryland GED Registration and Scheduling
To register for your Maryland GED® test, create an account at GED.com and click on Register Today afterwards.
Another way to register for your GED® test is that you call the Pearson VUE center at 1-877-EXAM-GED (392-6433).

3. Maryland GED® Testing Fee
3.1. GED® test centers
Maryland only subsidizes the initial test per module. Maryland does not subsidize any retesting. If you take your GED® at any authorized GED® test centers at Maryland, you might be charged the following fees:
- Each GED® subtest costs $11.25 for the first try. The entire test consisting of 4 modules costs $45. The second and third attempt typically cost $10 per module. If you order additional retests, you must pay $30, $10, $10, $30 for the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh try per each subject respectively. There is no discount for retesting in OP testing.
4. GED® Retest Policies in Maryland
Candidates might retake your GED® exam to achieve their expected passing scores. However, you are permitted to take three GED tests per module per calendar year. It means that your fourth attempt will be scheduled on January 1 of the following year. 5. GED® Testing in Spanish
The current GED® test is available in English or Spanish in Maryland. During the scheduling procedure, order the language format you prefer. The Reasoning through Language Arts (RLA) module must be studied in English; the other three modules can be done in Spanish.
6. GED® Test Scores/Diploma Information
The Maryland State Board of Education and the Maryland Department of Labor jointly give a Maryland High School Diploma to test takers who pass all four GED® test modules.
Testers who successfully complete the final module will be given instructions on how to secure an electronic PDF document that includes their Smart Transcript and Maryland High School Diploma and is sent to them via email.
Keep a copy of each document on your computer in case you need it in the future. Please keep these in your files. There is a free professional printing option for the Maryland High School Diploma on the electronic versions of the diploma.
