Conduction, convection and radiation are the three main methods of heat transfer in nature. When we heat one end of a metal rod, the other end of the rod heats up as well after a while. Which method of heat transfer is involved here?

Explanation

When heat is supplied to an object, its particles heat up and start shaking violently. During this motion they hit neighbouring particles and transfer their energy to them. This process continues throughout the conductor, which is why one end heats up when heat was supplied to the other end. This process is called conduction.
Supplement:  While conduction involves solids, convection moves heat through fluids.  Radiation requires no material at all, like solar radiation through empty space.
