6. Frequently Asked Questions about GED in Kentucky

ged kentucky
FAQs about GED exam in Kentucky

6.1. Can I take all of the GED test subjects at once?

  • For those testing in-person at a Testing Center:

Yes. You are permitted to take all test subjects on the same day as long as you can find a testing center with hours that accommodate it or set up different appointment times.

  • For those testing on the Online Exam:

No. If you take online testing, your test appointments must be scheduled separately, which means after you accomplish an online exam, you may schedule another according to appointment availability.

6.2. Can I take the GED® Test in other languages? Am I allowed to combine languages to credential?

Yes, of course. In Kentucky, in addition to taking the English version of the GED test, you might sit for the Spanish one. However, combining two different languages to earn your credential is not allowed.

6.3. What happens if I move to a different state in the middle of testing? Can I continue my testing in my new state or do I have to start all over?

You might continue your testing in your new state if you move to a different state that doesn’t have the residency requirements. However, if that state has a residency requirement, you must start all over your GED exam. Please contact the GED Administrator™ in that state with questions.

>>>Read More: GED in Connecticut

6.4. Who is the GED Administrator™ in Kentucky?

John C. Gregory, Ph.D.

Executive Director

Office of Adult Education

Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet

500 Mero St #566 SC

Frankfort, KY 40601-1987

502-892-3060

6.5. How old do I need to be to take the test?

You must be at the age of 19 to take the GED in Kentucky.

6.6. I’m underage. What do I need to do to take the test?

As aforementioned, you can take the GED test if you are 18 and present an officially withdrawn from school for at least 90 days certified by the local school district. Moreover, those who are at the age of 18 might take testing online in Kentucky if

their parent/guardian is present at the pretest check in to give consent and authorize underage testers to be recorded during testing. Bear in mind that  if the parent or guardian is not present,  the exam session will be deleted.

6.7. The closest testing center is in a different state. Can I take the test there?

Because some states don’t allow people who don’t live there to take the GED® test and others do, you should check the residency requirement for the state that you’re interested to test in.

6.8. Do I need to take a GED® class or receive instruction from a local prep center before I can take the test?

No. You aren’t required to prepare for the GED® test in an adult education classroom.

In a nutshell, useful information regarding GED in Kentucky  has been provided in this paper. Hopefully, you might find our blog helpful. Don’t forget to take our Free GED Practice Questions to earn the Kentucky State High School Diploma.
