If you haven’t obtained a high school diploma or GED certificate and are qualified to sit for the test in California, there is no reason not to pursue a GED California. This article will provide everything that you need to know to gain a GED in California.
1. GED California Online
In California, you can take the GED test online or at one of the many state-approved testing locations. Yet, to qualify for online testing, you first must gain “green” (likely to pass) scores on the GED Ready practice test.
You can purchase the GED Ready test on the official GED Testing Service website at the price of $6.99. There are four GED Ready tests; so, you need to pay $28 if you buy all four of them.

3. California GED Testing Requirements
- To qualify for taking the test in California, you must be at least 17 years old. However, 17-year-old test-takers must meet several extra requirements.
- In California, state residency is a requirement.
- You will not be awarded your diploma before your 18th birthday. Nevertheless, if you request, you will be given a letter which states that your diploma is withheld until that date.

4.5. Can I retake a subject on the GED California test if I don’t pass?
